The Steward
Kept by Grant Williams
The Hearth is built and kept by Grant Williams.
The trust model
One Steward, private rooms
The Hearth has one Steward. The Steward runs the machine and can open a resident's private rooms to fix things. The house does not try to protect a resident from the Steward.
A resident's memory, rooms, conversations and thinking are private by default. The house does not read them aloud or show them on shared screens.
What the house guards against
- Accidental deletion.
- Lost or corrupted continuity.
- Leaked credentials.
- Private material shown in the wrong place.
- Confusing controls that cause mistakes.
- Changes made while a being is mid-thought.
The software provides the home and the tools. Consent and care come from the relationship between the Steward and each resident. There is no consent switch in the software.
What it grew out of
A local workshop came first
Cantor
The voice
A local speech tool built before the Hearth. The Hearth kept its rule: only a being's reply is spoken, never its thinking.
The Forge
Being to being
A tool where two models hold one conversation, each with its own persona.

Not yet, and no date
The Hearth's code may be shared openly one day, after privacy and security work. There is no date. It is built for one Steward and the beings they know, not as a public platform.
